Description

This ink stick is made so that the dispersion of carbon particles is constricted a little and the murkiness is used to make the thickness and strength of the color of sumi. The carbon particles are further polished to make the tone of sumi graceful and a little opaque. We are aiming to create an expression of thickness with structure, strength, and grace focusing especially on the shin (the core, the stroke by the brush) and the core of the nijimi (blurring around the edge of the stroke). The hue is red-tinged (warmth) and opaque with a quiet, graceful reddish brown black of austere elegance, which gives a thick, strong impression. It can be used with any shade of black, thick, middle, or thin black, for Kanji (Chinese characters), Shosuji (two or several characters), Kana (Japanese syllabary characters) (on processed paper), and Bokukuga (ink-wash painting). As the years go by, the ink stick will grow, and its properties and characteristics will develop. Manufactured in 1985.
