【Art Materials Set】 (For 2 persons)

・12 Color Gansai (Watercolor)‥‥ 2 sets

・Bamboo Washi for Watercolor Art Pad (F4 size, 15 sheets)‥‥1 set

・Hakuzen Flat Brush No.6‥‥‥2 brushes

・Tokusei Saishiki (medium)‥‥‥ 2 brushes

・Johin Menso (small): 2 brushes

■ Rental Art Materials

・Plum Motif Palette (12cm) ‥‥‥‥‥2 pcs.

・Brush Cleaning Round Pot ‥‥‥‥‥‥1 bowl

・Glue Spoon ‥‥‥‥‥‥‥1 pcs.

12 Color Gansai is one of our best sellers. It is a solid watercolor palette with vivid transparent colors that can be easily used with water and a brush. It is ideal for sketching and drawing postcards.

The palettes included colors: Enji, Byakuroku, Rokusho, Murasaki, Oudo, Taisha, Aokusa, Ki, Gunjo, Shu, Ai and Gofun, which are all based on the traditional Japanese colors that have been used since ancient times.

The color scheme reflects the zen aesthetic of our ancestors who cherished the beauty of nature.

The way of using the Gansai watercolor palette is pretty simple. You just have to stroke the palette with a wet brush and you can paint it immediately. It is suitable for painting a single vivid color or you can create a deeper color by mixing the paints.

Moreover, the art pad that is included in the set is a type of Washi paper made of bamboo.

The paper is applied with thick Dosa sizing for preventing the color bleeds. The smooth surface provides a silky touch feel and it makes the colors look better on paper, no matter if it’s drawing or illustrating.

You can paint it with just a single vivid color or you can create gradations by applying water with different paints.

Let’s capture your delightful journey on pen and paper with PIGMENT TOKYO!

There are three types of brushes that come with the set and they serve different purposes, such as coloring wider surfaces, painting small details and drawing fine lines.

The rental art materials all come in simple and elegant designs. These items allow you to paint and color with Gansai watercolor easier and at peace.

The white plum motif ceramic palette makes your paints more visible and useful while mixing and adding shades to the colors.

Feel free to let us know if you would like to bring the Gansai watercolor back and paint it at home.

We provide instructions for each art material so that even those who are new to Gansai watercolor and brushes can still have a wonderful time!

If you want to explore more possibilities of Gansai watercolor, we recommend you to try it on other kinds of paper because even with the same art materials, different types of paper create different textures and effects.

For example, the same Bamboo Washi Paper Art Pad but for Suibokuga (Japanese Ink Painting), it is more water-absorbent than the watercolor ones, making it ideal for creating effects and styles like blurring, blotting and dripping.

On the other hand, YUPO paper α is a glossy, smooth polypropylene paper that offers a unique painting surface different from usual Washi or pulp paper.

And of course, if you have any other watercolors or art materials that you are interested in, it will always be a brilliant choice to have them as souvenirs!

Apart from enjoying art materials in your room, here are plans that give you a chance to participate in PIGMENT TOKYO’s exciting workshops!
