"Yuki" is a new addition to the Ezumi series, born from the collaboration between Nakagawa Gofun Enogu Co., Ltd., masters of white pigments, and Boku-Undo Co., Ltd., masters of black ink, combining decades of expertise and craftsmanship.
Named “Yuki” after the Japanese word for snow, this set features soft, gentle colors reminiscent of a snowy landscape, achieved through a delicate balance that brings out the best qualities of both Ezumi and gofun pigments.
The soft color palette produces subtle shades and light effects that are difficult to achieve through simple mixing, and is also ideal for blending with other watercolors, including pearl tones.
Ezumi is Boku-Undo’s original watercolor series, created with sumi ink as its base. Developed with careful attention to hue, lightness, saturation, and expression, it reflects the sumi-making techniques the company has cultivated since its founding in 1805.
Each color offers a wide tonal range with transparency according to paint thickness and use of water.
These watercolors come in solid pans that dissolve instantly when touched with a wet brush.
The paper band and dividers in the product packaging are made from kome-kami, a paper material created from rice that is no longer suitable for consumption.
