The outlines of mountains line up along with the clear winter sky, buildings are dyed in orange, and the streets of Tokyo are spreading under the cherry blossom-tinted spring haze. Imagining the scenes woven together that slowly change with the passage of time and the seasons as seen from AMAN TOKYO, we have selected the following 3 colors based on the primary colors.
*Color may vary depending on availability.
We select the color based on the images and the three primary colors.
The ”Aya” series was created by combining PIGMENT TOKYO's aesthetic with the traditional Sumi ink-making techniques handed down for more than 1,300 years since the ancient capital of Nara.
Aya inkstick is crafted from pigments and highly transparent natural animal glue, one by one, by skilled artisans.
The transparent and vivid colors of the original pigments can be used as it is or by layering and shading to create beautiful depth.
Please check this article to learn more about the secrets behind the development of Saiboku (color inksticks).

Using an Aya inkstick is rather intuitive by gently pouring water into the inkstone and rubbing it until the ink comes out.
Pre-drawn postcards are also included in the set, so even non-artists can enjoy the color materials without any problem.
Check out the following video on how to use the tools.
【”Etegami Time at AMAN TOKYO” A quiet stay to share your thoughts through art】
It is convenient to put each color on the plum palette separately when mixing colors or adjusting the thickness.
Let’s capture your stay in Tokyo with a unique painting on pure white bamboo washi paper, instead of taking pictures!
You may take your painting materials home in a paulownia wood box as a memento of your trip.
If you would like to paint more after you return home, or if you are looking for new colors to use on your next journey, you can purchase the same painting materials through our website.
More than 30 colors of Saiboku inksticks are available in addition to those introduced above. Please check the link below to see more colors.
【List of Saiboku (Color Inksticks)】
Away from the daily mundane, here is a time and space to express what you feel with colors and words coming from your inner soul.
During this special moment spent in a luxurious space, you may enjoy your time and reflect on yourself while thinking of your loved ones.
