10th Anniversary Special Workshop!

To celebrate PIGMENT TOKYO’s 10th anniversary, we are hosting a special workshop in collaboration with Boku-Undo, a traditional and renowned sumi ink manufacturer.
Founded in 1805, Boku-Undo has been producing sumi ink for over 200 years.
Through centuries of accumulated expertise and craftsmanship, they offer a diverse range of inks, including Koboku inks aged over 50 years old, rare inks made from carefully selected raw materials and the recently popular colorful Saiboku inks.

In this workshop, participants will have the rare opportunity to try a variety of sumi inks, including the antique Koboku series that are normally only available for testing at Boku-Undo’s Eirakukan room in Nara, the Hyakusenboku series made from 100 unique blends, the soft and elegant Saiboku Aya series known for their beautiful colors, and the traditional-toned Yamato Gaboku series. You will be able to experience firsthand their wide range of colors, fragrances and textures.

This special opportunity to experience exquisite sumi inks, which is normally only accessible by traveling to Nara Prefecture, will be available this time at PIGMENT TOKYO in Tennoz Isle, Tokyo. While learning about the passion behind Boku-Undo’s ink-making and the unique qualities of their products, participants will have a rare chance to immerse themselves in the profound world of sumi ink.

We warmly invite you to take this opportunity to discover and enjoy the captivating charm of these antique sumi inks!
