Description

Lecture by Natsumi Yamasato

Approximately 4500 color of pigments are lined up on the wall at PIGMENT. Mineral pigments are one part of the wall and they are called “Iwa-enogu” in Japanese. They are made of grinded minerals, and the grains of pigments sparkle like jewels. Mineral pigments have beautiful colors and at the same time they have physicality as materials.
This workshop is an introduction for who would like paint with the mineral pigments for first time. Compare to paints in tubes, it is little difficult to handle them, but it will be easy for everyone with little tips of how to use them. Basic knowledge of mineral pigments and how to knead the pigments with animal glue to make paints are going to be demonstrated in the workshop.
Please look for your favorite mineral pigments surrounded by many colors at PIGMENT store.
