~ Seasonal Motifs in Japan~

Japanese style paintings, especially Kano-style paintings, Rinpa-style paintings, and Jyakuchu’s paintings are brilliant and highly creative.
It may seem difficult to paint in Japanese style, but it will be easy to manage once you learn the techniques and the materials.

The motifs for this workshop is selected according to the theme “beauty of nature” and the techniques of Japanese style painting will be introduced through the process of painting. Tarashikomi (dripping technique) which mainly used in Rinpa-style paintings will be one of them.
Our workshop will start from learning how to knead paints and handle brushes, so there will be no worries if you are a beginner. Also, you will be mainly painting with natural mineral pigments that derived from azurite and malachite in this workshop.
Please feel free to join our workshop to experience the world of Japanese art.
