“Mineral pigments” are one of the kinds which made by grinding mineral ores and colored glasses.
The fine grains of the mineral shine brightly, and you can feel both the color and the materiality. Let’s try and use this jewel-like paint made of mineral together. This workshop is for those who are using the mineral pigment for the first time. Anyone can easily handle it with just a few tips. We will give a lecture on basic knowledge about mineral pigment and how to use it as a paint mixture of animal glue and mineral pigments.
We are going to paint a graceful flower in the main working time.
Through the whole workshop, we hope you will enjoy and find the fascination in Japanese style painting

Natural mineral pigments are mainly made from ores (azurite, malachite, cinnabar, etc.) and grinded into grains. It is manufactured from the same raw material to the about 10 different granularities, and it becomes finer as the number increases from 5 (coarse) to 13 (powder), and ""byaku (white) "" refers to the finest powder form. The color tone changes as the grain size changes, with coarse # 5 being the darkest and lightness increasing as the grain size becomes finer. Because of the difference in grain size and specific gravity, it is mostly used as a single color.
