CITE JAPAN 2019 was held in PACIFICO YOKOHAMA from May 15th to May 17th.
This event serves as a platform to exhibit the various materials, technology, services, etc. in the field of cosmetics.
From the pigments used for cosmetics to the containers and equipment, there are over 300 companies from industries related to cosmetics gather in one place, under the theme of “Next Step for Cosmetic Ingredients & Technology – The Worldwide New Trend -”. This is a cutting-edge event for all cosmetic industries in Japan.
This article will introduce one of the participating companies, DIC Corporation, and their products exhibited at CITE JAPAN 2019.
First presentation was INTENZA®︎ series by Sun Chemical Corporation.
NTENZA® is a line of FDA certified organic colorants that provide clean vivid color with dynamic pearl effect. It is not only in Japan but they also meet the global cosmetic regulatory.
What is surprising about this pigment is that it does not require any of the harsh milling or grinding to mix with medium. Unlike Mica and lake pigments that are difficult to stir because of its heavy specific gravity, INTENZA® provide excellent dispersibility.
INTENZA® has three types according to the particle sizes for various purposes; Standard model, glitter model and soft model.
The next presentation was Linablue®︎, a natural blue colorant derived from DIC Spirulina.
Have you ever got your tongue colored after eating a candy?
Linablue®︎ is fully in compliance with regulatory criterias for coloring food. Unlike artificial colorants, the tongue will not be colored as Linablue®︎ has almost no dyeing effect. Although there are various pigments in PIGMENT TOKYO, this edible pigment is new for us.
As well as DIC Corporation booth, there are a lot of new pigments, materials and technologies at the exhibitions, which we believe may inspire and provide the opportunity for the art industry to create something new.
